What work of art (film, book, record, whatever) changed your life?
Submitted by bodhibound.
well it didn't actually change my life, but it did upset my stomach and make my eyes ugly and i did make a life changing decision today.
both the book and the movie are equally as horribly...sad. i read the book years ago when i still worked in ticket centers and had to man the front desk until 9pm. someone had left the book on the desk and it was a slow Saturday. it's a small book, and i read quickly. i read the whole book during my shift. i forgot to take a lunch. i'm warning you, don't even start reading/watching unless you have a full box of tissues, or maybe skip the tissues and go straight for a towel. this story is sappy and simple, but moving and will make you cry.
ugh, now my stomach hurts.
Where is the farthest you have ever been away from home? Did you get homesick?

Well... it just so happens i'm flying to london tomorrow for a job interview. I'm trying my hardest to get a job in london. I'm sure i'll be homesick, but it's also and adventure. i'll be gone all week, so my sporadic posting will be even more so until i return. expect a lot of flickr activity when i return.
What movie did you expect would be terrible, but was actually really good?
empire records. I love this movie. i also worked in a record store. the archetypes of personalities working in a record shop were pretty spot on. i could see bits of me in some of those characters and definitely see my friends as the others. We were not courted by a wholesale chain, but it was a struggle to keep going.
a pretty lighthearted movie that made me laugh. i was expecting the usual teen dribble.
Which new movies are you looking forward to seeing this fall?
I don't really know what i'm looking forward to. I want to see "across the universe" it's like a modern day sgt. peppers. Hopefully it is not as dreadful.
I used to love going to the movies, infact we used to go every weekend. It's the public that makes movies so darn irritating. People just don't know how to act in public. Talking/txting on mobiles, bringing extremely young children to inappropriate for their age movies, teenagers being teenagers and talking/flirting. The last time we went nd ADULT kept kicking the back of my chair. now these seats were actually a decent space apart. i was beyond irritated.
so beacuse hte public ruiuns movies, i tend to wait for dvd.
I did see stardust in the theaters, it was good. anything special effect like should really be enjoyed on the big screen, even if that means watching with the commoners.
