alrighty then, we have recently watched kinsey and the squid and the whale. apparently we had a laura linney weekend 2 weekends ago. i jusy forgot to post my reviews.
kinsey wasn't so much about sex as it was about relationships and obsession. i'm not really sure howi would deal with my husband deciding to study sex and being so open about it. there were a lot of words, andit was a good mvie to watch. i was amazed at the characters ability to accept difficult socially unaccpetable things and try to be tolerant. they also displayed character blindspots, like kinsey not being able to relate to his son at all just like his dad couldn't relate to him. i did enjoy it even if the subject made me a little uncomfortable.
the door in the floor was incomfortable and comfortable all at the same time. i'm lucky in that my parents are still together. i do rememebr this time period and a lot of my friends were dealing with divorce. it's very interesting fromthe kids perspectives. my brother.
we have attempted to watch waking life. wow, i didn't realize the whole movie was rotoscoped, i thought it was dream sequences intersperced. i guess i had no idea what the movie was about at all befor ei rented it. i think it has potential, if i don't get sick watchign it. we couldn't hear all of hte words above the neighbors and dishwasher so we turned it off. it seems to be a really wordy philosphical movie that you have to be in the mood for. we will try it again soon.
tomorrow we should have kiss kiss bang bang. someoen at work was telling me it was a good movie. i can't remember anything else about it right now.
What was the worst advice you ever received? Did you follow it?
i am sure i have recieved and taken bad advice, but i can't think of anything off the top of my head. I can't blame any of my actions on others, i am fully responsible for everything i have done in my life. i'm not proud of everything i have done in my life, but i made my choices. i wouldn't be whoi am today if i changed anything. i'm happy in my life, it's not perfect, but who wants perfect.
i don't think i really liked this question.
If you could get someone in your life to start a blog, who would it be and why?
i don't have a good answer for this. possibly my friend carol, because i don't get to see her much anymore.
Go to one random page in Explore Audio. What CD do you see that you're most interested in listening to?
i was just reading about this guy in one of my old music rags. apparently he has just released a new album, but was once famous for some folksy songs. i can't remember which ones off the top of my head, but they sounded familiar. he's from ohio. i happened upon so many free subscriptions to stuff i have magazines everywhere, so i can't for sure remember which magazine it was. wiki article can be found here.
so i've been wearing the white gold necklace my mom bought me for my 30th, and sometime today, it broke and fell off. i can't find it. this sucks. i've only had it for a little over a month and the pendant breaks. how do i tell my momther? she willbe upset. it wasn't the chain that broke, it was the charm.
i'm really pissed off. the only place it could be is at buffalo wild wings, and i doubt anyone will return it to the management. it's lost.
i'm really dissapointed.
What or who is your favorite product mascot? Why?
when i was little i has an else the cow doll. she had a large plastic head and a soft body. i don't remember who gave her to me, i just rememeber loving this doll. recently i was watching "unwrapped" and they were discussing bordens and elsie came up, and then they mentioned elmer, as in elmer's glue. i never realized how sick and disturbing elmer's glue is, like soylent green. just grossed me out. how one company makes ice cream and rubber cement and uses cute cartoon cows that seem happy with the products, i will never understand.in trying to find a better picture of my elsie doll, the first link that google shows is for someone named ashley and her sex toys. the breif description i can see in google search has me intrigued. i have not clicked the link because i'm not sure i'm really ready to find out what "Elsie the Cow -- with realistic mooing action" would be. i think this might just ruin the memories of my elsie the cow.
i hate to be the total geek, but i love tux the penguin. i am starting to really enjoy using ubuntu and tux has so many games that are fun to play.
If you could open any sort of restaurant, what would it be like?
eek, no idea. i don't think i have any origiinal ideas for a restaurant. it would have to be unique. i wouldn't want to open something and it be a subpar version of something that already exists and is good.
Play any instrument or speak any language, which do you choose?
Question submitted by cruftbox.vox.com.
such an oddly worded question. i would like to learn german again and get to play my viola more.
What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? How does that compare to now?
twizzlers. it wasn't a proper movie going experience with out twizzlers. i do still sometimes crazy twizzlers, but i think the recipe has changed or my tastebuds have changed and i don't find them as good a si did when i was little. the other really awesome treat was the joy bar. chocolate covered raspberry jelly. heaven in a candy wrapper. they are next to impossible to find now unless you have a really good jewish deli or a big jewish community. i generally can only find them at passover.
